Arsenal target William Carvalho is set to complete his transfer to Arsenal within the next fortnight from Sporting Lisbon. The gunners have been linked to the 22 year old for some time now. Arsenal rivals Manchester united are also reportedly chasing his signature since last summer. Arsenal missed out on him last summer because he remained with his current club.The deficiency of players in the defensive midfield position has made Wenger to look for a midfielder who can fill the position. Currently the position is filled by Arteta who is injured and flamini who is also sidelined.
Wenger's multiple bids last season did not materialize and he will be trying once again to sign the midfielder.The gunners have stepped up their efforts in signing him. They will have to spend an excess of £25m for any move for the midfielder.
Wenger will need to strengthen the defensive in order to give the attackers the freedom of attacking the opponents at will so as to remain competitive in the title race.
